Many people ask who are you? What are you about? Are you a Mormon? Do you believe in the book of Mormon? Do you believe Joseph smith was a prophet? The answer to all those questions is an astounding YES! We are Mormons, we do believe in the book of Mormon and we believe that Joseph smith was a prophet of god. In fact we believe that he was the first prophet of the church we hold him as our founder and the propagator of the church of Christ.

Many of the Christian world think that Mormons are only those that belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, this is not true. Mormons are those that follow the teachings of the book of Mormon. We therefore are Mormons, as we follow the teachings of the book of Mormon. We are also Christians. We have at the very head of our church the saviour Jesus Christ. It was he that bestowed upon our prophet Matthew Gill his calling. We are very much Christians. We observe all the Christian holidays and we celebrate them with much reverence.

The uniqueness of the Latter Day Church of Christ is that not only do we have the book of Mormon along with the bible and the Doctrine and covenants but we are in the wonderful position of having been given added scripture. These scriptures were given to us by the power of god and they testify of a people that lived in the British Isles in ancient days and there testimony of the almighty.

The Latter Day Church of Christ therefore are not only followers of the book of Mormon the bible the doctrine and covenants by we will also be followers of the principles laid down in this new book of scripture.

“Let it be understood from this day forth that we the Latter Day Church of Christ are followers of the Christ. We believe on him and we worship him. We love the lord and honour him with our worship” These are the words of our prophet. They are clear and to the point, there should be no doubt that we are first and foremost believes in the Christ.

Now that we have made clear our position on weather or not we are Mormons and weather or not we are Christians I would like to let all know that this Sunday coming will be a different event with two video on the restoration being shown. We are all looking forward to seeing them.

The Sacred records are almost finished with only a small amount left to do. We have now also located a publisher to do the copies that we need. The lord is truly blessing us and the work that we need to get done is being helped along by his all powerful will.

We are still appealing to all those who wish to make donations to the farm to do so your money will go to help all those who wish to move fully on to the farm and help make it a self sustaining success and bring hope to the wider community. We are also reaching out to all those who wish to come and join with us. Do not be put off from joining with us in worship. If you want to hear the gospel of Christ and hear a living modern day prophet who speaks to god them come along to our Sunday service. We start at 10:00 o’clock and finish at 12:00 o’clock you are all welcome to “Come listen to a prophet’s voice”

The Book of Mormon

Once again her are some quotes to ponder on for the week.

The fundamental principles of our religion are the testimony of the Apostles and Prophets, concerning Jesus Christ, that He died, was buried, and rose again the third day, and ascended into heaven; and all other things which pertain to our religion are only appendages to itJoseph Smith Jr

The kingdom of God was set up on the earth from the days of Adam to the present time, whenever there has been a righteous man on earth unto whom God revealed His word and gave power and authority to administer in His name. And where there is a priest of God—a minister who has power and authority from God to administer in the ordinances of the gospel and officiate in the priesthood of God—there is the kingdom of God Joseph Smith Jr

I translated the record, by the gift and power of God. In this important and interesting book the history of ancient Britain is unfolded. . . . The Saviour planted the gospel here in all its fullness, and richness, and power, and blessing; that they had apostles, prophets, pastors, teachers and evangelists; the same order, the same priesthood, the same ordinances, gifts, powers, and blessings, as is enjoyed today, that the people were destroyed in consequence of their transgressions, that the last of their prophets who existed among them was commanded to write an account of their prophesies and their history, He was commanded to hand them to the saviour himself, so that one day the saviour would be able to give the record to one of his servants to give to me, and that it should come forth and be united with the bible and the Book of Mormon for the accomplishment of the purposes of God in the last days Matthew Gill

The Latter Day Church of Christ met on Sunday the 19th of November. We had a great sacrament meeting with a lot of business being announced.

The hymn book which is being compiled by Vicki Gill under the direction of the lord is expected to be completed by the end of December.

The Records that are being translated by the Prophet Matthew Gill are still expected to be completed by Christmas. Sunday saw some progress with the records as the Prophet and 3rd Elder David Smith gave over 2 hours to the translating process. We pray that the lord will look upon us with grace and help our Prophet and 3rd Elder to get it completed by Christmas.

3rd Elder of the church David Smith has commented that during the translation this Sunday he could feel the presence of many angelic beings and he could feel that the Saviour was with himself and the Prophet during their time translating.

The Church has also took out some advertising space on http://www.christianadvertising.org/ this will give us access to people who wish to hear our message of the restored gospel.

Our Sunday service was open for testimony’s to be given and it was a truly spiritual event. All who were present testified and all who were at the meeting were filled with the Holy Spirit. Truly a wonderful sacrament this week.

Sunday school saw us advance into sections 20, 21 and 22 of the Doctrine and Covenants. 2nd Elder Philip Gill gave the lesson which was truly great.

The Latter Day Church of Christ is being blessed by the almighty everyday and we are reaching out to all those who wish to have a fullness of the gospel of Christ to come and worship with us.

Please take a look at our new video created by our Prophet Matthew Gill. Joseph Smith Movie

Here are a couple of wonderful quotes to keep you going during the week.

When you joined this Church . . . you left the neutral ground, and you never can get back on to it. Should you forsake the Master you enlisted to serve it will be by the instigation of the evil one. Joseph Smith Jnr

We . . . must be under [God's] guidance if we are prospered, preserved and sustained. Our only confidence can be in God; our only wisdom obtained from Him: and He alone must be our protector and safeguard, spiritually and temporally, or we fall. Joseph Smith Jnr

Our Sunday meeting went well this week. It was remembrance Sunday and we had a very good meeting. Elder Philip Gill conducted the meeting, we had 2 minutes silence in remembrance of all those that gave their lives that we might be here. I would like to say that when we remember all those that gave their lives for us we should remember the saviour and his ultimate sacrifice for us for without him we would not be able to even remember these things for without his sacrifice we would all be damned. And to brother Joseph we give thanks for he never wavered in the final hour when the bullets pierced his skin and he knew that his life was over he never threw in the towel and that is a wonderful example to us all.
Sister Alyson Gill gave a wonderful talk about us being ready to meet with the saviour. Everybody present felt of the spirit of the lord and that he was there with us. The translation work is going wonderfully. The whole church is waiting with bated breath for the work on the ancient record to be completed. According to the prophet it should be completed before Christmas which will make a wonderful Christmas present for the church and for all those that this work is meant for.
The church is still pressing forward with Zion’s Camp and we are still calling for all those that wish to contribute you are more than welcome. Remember every seed that is planted can realy help the work. We are calling for all those that wish to come to our service to please do so you are very welcome. Here is a wonderful quote from our first prophet Brother Joseph Smith.

The Saviour said, . . . "Blessed are ye when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely for my sake; rejoice and be exceeding glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so persecuted they the Prophets which were before you." Now, dear brethren, if any men ever had reason to claim this promise, we are the men; for we know that the world not only hate us, but they speak all manner of evil of us falsely, for no other reason than that we have been endeavouring to teach the fullness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith,

The Latter Day Church of Christ is a Mormon religion based in Derbyshire in England. We believe in the restoration of the gospel of Jesus Christ by Joseph Smith and we regard the Book of Mormon to be a holy book of scripture along with the Bible the 1844 Doctrine and Covenants and the Pearl of Great Price. We believe in baptism by immersion, we believe that this is the only way that you can enter in to the kingdom of God. Our church is lead by Matthew Gill. We believe that Matthew Gill is a modern day Prophet who was called by God who does in fact speak to God on a daily basis, and that he is Gods chosen successor to Joseph Smith. We believe through Matthew Gill that the lord has again established his law and church upon the earth and we are calling all people to join with us in spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ and preparing for the time of the coming of Christ. Matthew Gill was told by God in a vision that there are dark times to come and that the churches of the earth are not doing what he wants them to do. He was told that since the death of Joseph Smith God’s church has not been upon the earth although others profess to be God’s church they are not. God told Matthew that he wanted him to set up his church again on the earth. We are also blessed to have added scripture in the form of ancient records delivered to us by the hand of God, which talk of the ancient inhabitants of the British Isles and their dealing with God. We do not believe in the practice of polygamy and we speak out against its inclusion in the gospel of Christ. We claim no connection with the LDS church of Utah and want none.
Our aim is simply this to call people to Christ. We want to be able to bring that light in to people’s lives. We believe that the teachings of Joseph Smith along with modern day revelation do that and we want all to share in that wonderful blessing. We are also setting up a farm called Zion’s camp in which we aim to produce our own food and produce so that the needs of the saints and other members of the community are provided for. We make no apology in asking for donations, so any help would be greatly appreciated.
