Welcome. We here at The Latter Day Church of Christ wish all people well. We wish that all the people in the entire world find the light of Christ and that it may increase their quality of life. The Latter Day Church of Christ does not wish to fight any one who has different views of our Lord and Saviour or has different views of the Gospel of Christ. We want to be able to give every one the opportunity to listen to our message and make up their own mind with the help of the Holy Spirit to guide them. We want to achieve is understanding between all peoples. What we will not do however is put to the sword our beliefs in the process. We believe that we are the only true church upon the face of the earth, that we have been given divine instruction from on high to do this work and that we are Gods chosen people at this time to do this work.

It seems that however much we write on this blog site about how we as a religion are always willing to talk and listen to others and that we wish to foster in an atmosphere of love, others are just not willing to do that witch they proclaim to believe in. We can not force people to read our words and talk to us, but we do however wish those people to live up to their own articles of faith that they so dearly cling to. I believe unless I am mistaken that one of their articles of faith says “We claim the privilege of worshiping Almighty God according to the dictates of our own conscience, and allow all men the same privilege, let them worship how, where, or what they may” you may notice that at the end of this Article of faith they say that they “allow all men the same privilege, let them worship how, where, or what they may” so why are they so unwilling to do this? This is a question that is still awaiting an answer.

It has been an interesting week for the church. Since the 25th of this month our Prophet has been away in New York with his wife. We understand that they had a fantastic time and that they really enjoyed themselves. The Prophet had time to reflect on a number of issues while he was in New York. While he was there the Prophet was concerned at how much the world has turned form the good things of the Saviour. He said that although it was a great place to go and visit and there were a great many wonderful things to see he could not help notice that amid all this wonder mans love for his fellow brother and sister is lower than ever before. While he was in New York he saw men and women in Time Square collecting for the homeless they had big water containers on tables and they shouted out “Give whatever you can. Even a penny can buy a meal” while he heard these words he watched at how many people gave of their money and how many people walked on by. You can probably guess that the amount of people that walked by far out weighed those who gave. He says that he noticed that although it was very cold and those people might have been warmer in side doing something else they took the time to be on the streets of one of the world’s biggest and busiest cities to ask for money for the homeless. Truly they were giving us an example of the pure love of Christ. maybe we should all think upon our own actions and how we may better serve the Saviour.

I believe and I know that I speak for our prophet in saying this, that we all need to do more for those who have less and this is why we need to step up and give at the time of Tithing and Offering. We have a moral obligation as Christians and believers in the word of Christ to do more for our fellow brothers and sisters. I for one hope that we are nothing like those people that our prophet saw in New York and that we would be willing to give.

We are over joyed at having our prophet back within our midst and we are very pleased that he and his wife enjoyed their trip to New York. Now let us all press on in the work of the lord

Another week has passed us by and another week has dawned. We had a wonderful sacrament on Sunday. It was our fast meeting were our members were able to share with all who were gathered how the gospel of the Saviour touches their lives and how we can become closer to the Almighty. We were all given our new Doctrine and Covenants this Sunday. We now have the only Doctrine and Covenants to be approved by the Prophet Joseph Smith before his martyrdom. It truly was a fantastic meeting in which all present felt the spirit.

However, once again persecution has reared its ugly head. Persecution directed at our Prophet Matthew Gill and also at the Church it’s self. It seems that Satan is really giving us a buffering at the moment. Our Prophet has said that “In times of great joy and jubilation, when the work of the Lord is going forward from strength to strength Satan is at his most destructive. For it is his will to destroy the works of righteousness” We have once again received communication from a member of a sect of Mormonism that holds its headquarters in Utah in the United States of America.

The person who sent the letter to us did so with no other reason than to cause offence and to ridicule. It was my understanding that the LDS church promoted unity and understanding between itself and other denominations. It would seem that its members do not hold with this directive. Its members are nothing short of a disgrace. Our prophet has asked for dialogue to take place with these so called Christians so that we may come to a better understanding but as of yet nothing has been forthcoming. It seems to me that these people are only interested in causing hatred and have no interest in real Christian ethics. After trying to talk to the person responsible for the letter they refused point blank to talk to our representative, this only goes to show us that they are insecure about their beliefs. We welcome all those who wish to talk and discuss religion. The Latter Day Church of Christ wish to foster an atmosphere of love and understanding. We just wish to say that if any one wish's to know what The latter Day Church of Christ believes and what we are about then please come to us and we will be more than happy to sit and talk with you. After all the gospel of Christ is a gospel of love and good news not of hatred and ignorance. Maybe these people and the person who wrote the letter to us should look upon words spoken of by the Founder of Mormonism.

The Savior said, . . . "Blessed are ye when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely for my sake; rejoice and be exceeding glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so persecuted they the Prophets which were before you." Now, dear brethren, if any men ever had reason to claim this promise, we are the men; for we know that the world not only hate us, but they speak all manner of evil of us falsely, for no other reason than that we have been endeavoring to teach the fullness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ (Joseph Smith)

Look upon these words and hang your heads in shame.

Our Fisrt Sacrament of the New Year

The Latter Day Church of Christ held its first Sacrament meeting of the New Year on Sunday the 7th. All that were present agreed that it was good to be back after the Christmas break. It felt good to be back in the warmth and fellowship of the saints and to be able to sit and hear the words of a living Prophet being spoken once again.

A lot happened over the Christmas break. Not only has the Book of Jeraneck being completed but the Prophet Matthew Philip Gill has also received another revelation from our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. These points of interest were the main topics for our Sunday service just gone. We heard from our Prophet about the efforts we must take to push the work forward he said “We have been given a great responsibility. It is up to us to guard that responsibility and to use it well. We can’t rely on the Saviour to do all this work for us, we have to do our part, once we have done that then he will do the rest. Remember with such a great work comes great responsibility. Let us go forward in to 2007 with a mission to bring more souls unto Christ and to bring to those should knowledge of the Book of Jeraneck and all the other great works of scripture. I know that if we do this the lord will bless us with great blessings”

All agreed that is was a fantastic meeting with alot of wonderful spiritual experiences. We as a church have come under some persecution as of late, even over the Christmas season. We would like to offer our love to those people and welcome them to our service to hear the words of a living Prophet and feel the love of the Saviour. We gather great strength from the words of our first prophet Joseph smith who said:

I have no enemies but for the truth's sake. I have no desire but to do all men good. I feel to pray for all men. We don't ask any people to throw away any good they have got; we only ask them to come and get more. What if all the world should embrace this gospel? They would see eye to eye, and the blessings of God would be poured out upon the people, which is the desire of my whole soul. We feel disposed to go forward and unite our energies for the up building of the Kingdom, and established the Priesthood in their fullness and glory. The work which has to be accomplished in the last days is one of vast importance, and will call into action the energy, skill, talent, and ability of the Saints, so that it may roll forth with that glory and majesty described by the prophet Daniel and will consequently require the concentration of the Saints, to accomplish works of such magnitude and grandeur. (Joseph Smith)

We are grateful for the Prophet Joseph Smith who left us these words for his strength and conviction of truth are what empowers us today. We ask all those who wish to come and worship with us to do so. We have nothing to hide we wish to share all we have with who ever shall seek us out. God bless you in the coming week

2006 has gone, Welcome to 2007!

Hello and welcome back we hope that every body enjoyed their Christmas holidays and felt the love of the Saviour at that very special time of year.

2007 is looking like it is going to be a fantastic year for the church. We have sent the translated manuscript the "Book of Jeraneck" which is a 110 page document to the publishers. The manuscript was approved by our prophet just before the Christmas holidays and it has now gone off to be published and we are awaiting its return with great excitement.

We have finished the Hymn book and that is also off to the publishes and we have another book going in to in publication, the long awaited “Prophesy and Revelation” so all in all it looks like being a great year for pushing the work of the Lord forward.

Our meetings begin again on the 7th of January 2007 and we are grateful to be able to meet again as followers of the Christ and to worship in his name. The Latter Day Church of Christ’ s mission for 2007 is to bring people to a Knowledge of the “Book of Jeraneck” and help people come to know the Saviour better and help them enrich their lives. The lord truly is with us. The Prophet Matthew Gill translated the records in just under three months and the spirit that was felt was inspiring. We hope that all who read the words of the “Book of Jeraneck” will be able to feel of that same spirit.

Below is a quote from our founder Joseph Smith Jr. Read what he said about the book of Mormon.

Great opposition and much persecution followed the believers of [the Book of Mormon's] authenticity; but it had now come to pass that truth had sprung out of the earth; and righteousness had looked down from heaven—so we feared not our opponents, knowing that we had both truth and righteousness on our side; that we had both the Father and the Son, because we had the doctrines of Christ and abided in them.(Times and Seasons Dec 1 1842)

We to feel of this same persecution every day but we will not deny what we have seen and felt. We have a further testimony of the divinity of the Saviour and this further testimony along with the Book of Mormon the Bible and the Doctrine and Covenants will be our driving force this year to swell our ranks and bring people to a further knowledge of their Lord.

We will be updating this site every week as we did last year with news and inspirational quotes. We wish all a very happy new year for 2007 and we hope that it brings you all the good fortune that The Almighty may wish to lay at your feet.
