Well it has been one of the most exciting weeks that the church has had for a long time. On Sunday just gone we had and investigator meet with us and after our services and a meeting with the prophet he has decided to be baptised. Michael our investigator is a wonderful person who will bring a lot to the church. He has a spirit that shouts out with the love of the Lord, I’m sure that Michael will be a wonderful member and brother, we look forward to working and worshipping with him. Michael’s baptism will take place on Sunday the 27th of April and of course it promises to be a wonderful event.
The Latter day Church of Jesus Christ also has its first General Assembly of the year coming up on the 4th of May. The General Assembly which is the first one of the year always promises to be a wonderful event which sets out the year’s goals and aspirations for the year. If you wish to come to the general assembly then please call in advance for the start time.
This week we will not be having a video presentation that will continue next week however we would like to share with you a wonderful poem written by the Prophet Jospeh Smith-
This poem was published in the Church's official paper, the Times and Seasons on February 1, 1843. In this poem it tells of a vision that Joseph had had, Joseph had beheld a heavenly vision in which he was shown the condition of those individuals who inherit Celestial Glory. He tells of having been given the knowledge that they who attain Celestial Glory will be "equal in power, dominion and might, with a fullness of glory and grace, round Heavenly Father's throne."
Not only was Joseph’s vision and poem made available to the Church members in America, but it was also published in Liverpool, England, in the Church's paper, The Latter-Day Saints' Millennial Star for August 1843, it was also printed in New York City in the New York Herald.
Joseph's Poem in Its Entirety
I will go, I will go, to the home of the Saints Celestial Glory,Where the virtue's the value, and life the reward; But before I return to my former estateI must fulfil the mission I had from the Lord....
I, Joseph, the prophet, in spirit beheld,And the eyes of the inner man truly did seeEternity sketch'd in a vision from God,Of what was, and now is, and yet is to be....
For while in the act of translating his word [producing the Inspired Version],Which the Lord in his grace had appointed to me,I came to the gospel recorded by John,Chapter fifth and the twenty ninth verse, which you'll see.
Which was given as follows:"Speaking of the resurrection of the dead,—"Concerning those who shall hear the voice of "the son of man—"And shall come forth:—"They who have done good in the resurrection "of the just."And they who have done evil in the resurrection "of the unjust."
I marvel'd at these resurrections, indeed! For it came unto me by the spirit direct:—And while I did meditate what it all meant, The Lord touched the eyes of my own intellect....
I beheld the celestial, in glory sublime; Which is the most excellent kingdom that is,—Where God, e'en the Father, in harmony reigns; Almighty, supreme, and eternal, in bliss.
Where the church of the first born in union reside,And they see as they're seen, and they know as they're known;Being equal in power, dominion and might,With a fullness of glory and grace, round his throne.
(Times and Seasons 4 February 1, 1843 also The Latter-Day Saints Millennial Star 4 August 1843 and the New York Herald March 8, 1843)

We have had a magnificent week with people coming forward and contacting us with regards to joining the church. We are going to be having an investigator come and meet with us on the 13th of April and hopefully God willing he will feel the Spirit and join the church. We are just so overjoyed that someone has heard the message and they have felt the Spirit and they have felt that Matthew Gill our Prophet is called of God. Once again we call on all those that are in the LDS (Utah) Church and the other Mormon and Christan denominations that feel that they have been ignored or feel disenfranchised and feel that they have lost that personal connection with the Saviour Jesus Christ to come and talk to us and join with us, we have a lot to offer and we can give you back that personal relationship with Christ. It is great and overwhelming to know that the work that the Prophet Joseph Smith Jr started is finally being continued and is being appreciated, and that it is being done here at The Latter Day Church of Jesus Christ.
We hope that Elder Philip Gill appeals for money for Zion’s Camp do not go unheard and that you donate. If you desire to donate please go to paypal and donate tan amount that you feel is appropriate. Please donate it to latterdaychurchofchrist2006@yahoo.co.uk marking it for the attention of Zion’s Camp fund.
God bless you all and have a wonderful week. Next week Apostle David Smith will be making a video presentation, please look out for that.

We hope you have had a great Easter and that you were able to spend some of that time reflecting on the saviour and turning your thoughts to what Easter is all about. The ester and Passover celebrations here we very good and we had a wonderful Sunday sacrament meeting where all the talks were based on the Easter story and the saviour’s atonement. As promised Elder Phil Gill was able to do a video and we have pasted here along with this weeks blog. It is the first time that someone other than the Prophet has done a video so we hope that there will be questions sent to the email, and that it will generate some interest. The church is progressing very well and the wok is getting done the message is being spread and people are becoming engaged. Wonderful things are happening with revelation being given on a daily basis. The Apostle David Smith was given a dream from the Lord last week and the Prophet had a fulfilment of a revelation this week, so the Lord is working his mighty miracle and everything is coming together just as the Lord promises it will. We hope you enjoy the new video presentation given by Elder Phil Gill. God bless you throughout this week.

Well another week has gone by and the church continues to go from strength to strength. We have had a lot of people emailing us over the last couple of weeks leaving questions and enquiring about the church and what we are doing and what we believe in. The Prophet has taken a few of those questions and he has done a video post in order to answer some of them in person, that video address can be found here on the blog site and also on youtube as well.
The church has also commissioned Doris Lettmann to do some more Art work to go in to the children’s version of the Book of Jeraneck. So far the work that she has done has been wonderful and it looks as if the pictures are really going to catch the children’s eye, she is a wonderful artist and we thank her for her continued work that she is doing.
Zion’s Camp is hopefully going to become a reality this year with the church planning to purchase some land. If any one is interested they can email us about Zion’s Camp, if you are interested in coming and living at Zion’s Camp then please contact us and we will talk you through what you need to do. We are also still asking for donations to be made to the church for its continued missionary programme and its foundation of Zion’s Camp, please give what you can to the church, your seed will be planted and the harvest will be great.
So we hope that you enjoy the video’s, please keep your comments and emails coming. God Bless and have a great week.

Once again we have another video blog. This week has been very unique in as much as we have had two video posts. Today’s video post is in direct response to a video that was posted on youtube called: - A Curious Dilemma for Mormons: The Book of Jeraneck. Although the video was very good and did not portray the church in a savoury light there were some things that the Prophet needed to clear up hence the video response. We have not only put them on youtube but also on the blog so that those who keep updated with the blog will be able to watch them here. If you would like to know more or are interested in joining the church or if you have any questions that you wish to ask then please email your requests to us and we will try our best to answer them in double quick time.
God bless you all and have a great weekend.

It seems that the greater the work the greater the persecution is. This week we have had our share of both good and very bad responses to our video presentations both here on the blog and on youtube. Let me first start by thanking our friends all over the world for their support and their help it is very much appreciated and we welcome your help and your friendship, God Bless you.As for our persecutors and those who wish us ill we pray for you and we hope that your hearts may be softened and that you will learn to show more Christ like attributes in your life and also that you might read a little more in to your articles of faith in particular number eleven which says, "We claim the privilege of worshiping Almighty God according to the dictates of our own conscience, and allow all men the same privilege, let them worship how, where, or what they may".... Many of our persecutors are once again form the LDS church in Utah, it would seem that they have once again chosen to forget that their own church allows people the right to worship how were and what they may…. We do not know why but they seem to have a problem with any other religious group other than their own. We understand that you may not like what we are doing but then again we don’t like what you are doing but we don’t offend the leaders of your church every week with hate mail. It would seem that although they claim to be lovers of the saviour and the gospel that they are in truth further away form it than they would like to admit. Moving on, this week has been wonderful. We have had many people enquiring about the church and enquiring about baptism. The Lord is truly blessing his little flock at this moment in time.
This weeks the video presentation is on Zion’s Camp. Please enjoy the presentation and please keep your email coming. Have great week, God Bless.

Hi and welcome to all who have found our blog site. This week’s blog will be something a little different. There will not be a normal post this week, as we are going to be given an informal video from our Prophet Matthew Gill that will be posted later this week. In this video presentation the Prophet talks about Zion’s Camp and the role that it will play in the church and also about how the Last Days and events that are happening around us are a fulfilment of Prophesy. We will hopefully have the video posted by the end of the week.We are encouraging every one that reads this blog to help us in our efforts by talking to us and asking questions, we want to be able to post a video response at least every month to questions that we are asked and also to act as a call all those that are still undecided to come and join with us in building the kingdom of God and also in building Zion’s Camp. The Latter Day Church of Jesus Christ wants your membership and we want you to join with us.
God Bless you all and we hope that you enjoy the video presentation, keep an eye out for it.

Happy New year to Each And Every One of You.
2007 was a wonderful year for the church which was capped of wonderfully with the Winter General Assembly meeting, which was a wonderful success. The Winter General Assembly can be seen our youtube page.
2008 promises to be a good year for the church with the completion of the second Edition of The Book of Jeraneck soon to be with us and the Book of Prophesies and Revelation also soon to be with us. It is a year that as already brought reward to our small but faithful people. Already in 2008 we have been inundated with emails from people all over the world wanting to know more about us and wanting to get hold of Book of Jeraneck, so all in all the start to 2008 look’s good.
This year we have a plan in force to get a few things done. They are, establishing Zion’s Camp, getting the children’s version of the Book of Jeraneck completed, the churches mission to Tibet and India completed and on track and also the new version of the Bible to be finished and ready to use.
So once again we would like you to keep watching and contacting us as this year should be a great one indeed.
I found the following story and I thought that it would be great to include in this weeks blog. I hope that you like it, we all did. God bless you in your week and may his countenance shine upon you.
We were the only family with children in the restaurant. I sat Erik in a high chair and noticed everyone was quietly sitting and talking. Suddenly, Erik squealed with glee and said, 'Hi.' He pounded his fat baby hands on the high chair tray. His eyes were crinkled in laughter and his mouth was bared in a toothless grin, as he wriggled and giggled with merriment.
I looked around and saw the source of his merriment. It was a man whose pants were baggy with a zipper at half-mast and his toes poked out of would-be shoes. His shirt was dirty and his hair was uncombed and unwashed. His whiskers were too short to be called a beard and his nose was so varicose it looked like a road map.
We were too far from him to smell, but I was sure he smelled. His hands waved and flapped on loose wrists. 'Hi there, baby; hi there, big boy. I see ya, buster,' the man said to Erik.
My husband and I exchanged looks, 'What do we do?'
Erik continued to laugh and answer, 'Hi.'
Everyone in the restaurant noticed and looked at us and then at the man. The old geezer was creating a nuisance with my beautiful baby. Our meal came and the man began shouting from across the room, 'Do ya patty cake? Do you know peek-a-boo? Hey, look, he knows peek- a-boo.'
Nobody thought the old man was cute. He was obviously drunk.
My husband and I were embarrassed. We ate in silence; all except for Erik, who was running through his repertoire for the admiring skid-row bum, who in turn, reciprocated with his cute comments.
We finally got through the meal and headed for the door. My husband went to pay the check and told me to meet him in the parking lot. The old man sat poised between me and the door. 'Lord, just let me out of here before he speaks to me or Erik,' I prayed. As I drew closer to the man, I turned my back trying to sidestep him and avoid any air he might be breathing. As I did, Erik leaned over my arm, reaching with both arms in a baby's 'pick-me-up' position. Before I could stop him, Erik had propelled himself from my arms to the man.
Suddenly a very old smelly man and a very young baby consummated their love and kinship. Erik in an act of total trust, love, and submission laid his tiny head upon the man's ragged shoulder. The man's eyes closed, and I saw tears hover beneath his lashes. His aged hands full of grime, pain, and hard labor, cradled my baby's bottom and stroked his back. No two beings have ever loved so deeply for so short a time.
I stood awestruck. The old man rocked and cradled Erik in his arms and his eyes opened and set squarely on mine. He said in a firm commanding voice, 'You take care of this baby.'
Somehow I managed, 'I will,' from a throat that contained a tone.
He pried Erik from his chest, lovingly and longingly, as though he were in pain. I received my baby, and the man said, 'God bless you, ma'am, you've given me my Christmas gift.'
I said nothing more than a muttered thanks. With Erik in my arms, I ran for the car. My husband was wondering why I was crying and holding Erik so tightly, and why I was saying, 'My God, my God, forgive me.'
I had just witnessed Christ's love shown through the innocence of a tiny child who saw no sin, who made no judgment; a child who saw a soul, and a mother who saw a suit of clothes. I was a Christian who was blind, holding a child who was not. I felt it was God asking, 'Are you willing to share your son for a moment?' when He shared His for all eternity.
The ragged old man, unwittingly, had reminded me, 'To enter the Kingdom of God , we must become as little children.'
If this has blessed you, please bless others by sending it on. Sometimes, it takes a child to remind us of what is really important. We must always remember who we are, where we came from and, most importantly, how we feel about others. The clothes on your back or the car that you drive or the house that you live in does not define you at all; it is how you treat your fellow man that identifies who you are.

Merry Christmass
&
A Happy New Year
As the Prophet of The Latter Day Church of Jesus Christ I have the pleasure of giving this month’s blog post. Once again the most significant time of year is upon us. We are now in the month of December wherein we celebrate the birth of our Saviour Jesus Christ. It is a wonderful time of year that touches so many people in so many different ways. As Christians it touches us in a way that only Christmas can. Christmas is a wonderful time of year and one can feel its presents all through the month of December, it is a testament of the birth of Christ and stands, still in this day and age the most important time in the Christian calendar.
I know that although Christ was not born on December the 25th it gives us a time, a date that we can dedicate to that most beautiful and wonderful event that ushered in the earthy probation of the Saviour, and how wonderful to know that when we give gifts at this time of year we do it in remembrance of the gifts that Christ received. I know that when I awake on Christmas morning with my wife and son that the first thing we shall do is give thanks to Christ for all that he has done for us and dedicate that day to him, for without Christ there is no Christmas. As I do every year and have done since he was born, I will take my son, a couple of days before the 25th to give a toy to a little boy and girl who are without and in that he will learn that it is that act that Christ taught, to give without expecting anything in return.
As many people will be aware the church has a winter General Assembly meeting on the 16th of December, we have scheduled our winter GA to take place in December so that we may remember what it is we are here for, to glory in the name of Christ and what better way to do that than to do it in this most special month, and to dedicate our winter GA to the Christ.
On behalf of all the members of The latter day Church of Jesus Christ I wish you a very happy Christmas and leave you with this thought, at this time of year when you are all caught up in opening brightly wrapped gifts and you are tucking in to your Christmas feast to spare a thought to those how have not, spare a thought to your estranged family members who you have not spoken to in many a year, for therein lies the spirit of Christmas, therein lies what Christmas is all about, it is the spirit of Christ himself. Call your family members tell them that you love them despite your disagreements, give a gift to someone who is going without, help them, and show them real Christ like spirit. It is this wonderful year that shows us that we can believe and we can be like Christ if only for a short time. If we can do that then we can carry that with us through out the year and let that spirit shine forth every day of the year thought out our lives.
In the words of Tiny Tim “God Bless us Every One” As the Prophet of the church I would like to wish everyone a very happy Christmas and a wonderful New Year. see you the new year.

Our General Assembly meeting approaches the 16th of December is the date that has been set aside for our winter GA and we are all looking forward to it very much. We hope that you will be able to join with us and come and partake of the spirit at winter GA.The Latter Day Church of Jesus Christ is a place where the gospel of Jesus Christ and the restoration of the gospel of Jesus Christ through the Prophet Joseph Smith can be talked about freely. We would like to ask all of you who have a belief based around Joseph Smith to re-examine what you believe. We are not here to slam any one or what they believe we are however a church that proselytes and we feel it our duty to talk to every one about the gospel no matter what age or colour you are. We have been bomb barded again this week by what can only be called malicious and unprovoked attacks upon what we believe in, we have given no one course to do this, we have not commanded any one to join us rather we have given then the freedom to choose for them selves what they believe in. I feel that I need to remind every body what The Latter Day Church of Jesus Christ is all about and I’m sorry to say that no matter what we put on this blog site there will always be those that disagree with what we are saying and what we believe, we don’t mind that, what we do mind is people being hateful and un-Christ like about the whole thing. We will continue to talk and teach and preach until we are told not to do so by that particular person, and even then we will still talk about Christ as he is our Saviour no matter if you believe other wise. We love every one, we may not like what you do but we love you never the less. To all those that say that they are comfortable with what they believe or are just comfortable going to a church without really knowing if what they are doing is true or not. We say this. You must re-examine what you re doing! To feel comfortable is fine but when you attach yourself to a church that clams to be the “ONLY TRUE CHURCH” you had better be more than just comfortable you must have a knowledge and know what you are attaching yourself to is true and form God. We hope that we may continue to talk and discuss in a manner which is pleasing unto God without having to resort to hatred and unchristian like attitudes.
The concept video trailer of the book of Jeraneck was uploaded on to youtubbe last week and it is being received very well if you wish to go to it please follow the link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b3-Z4QabhhE we hope that you like it and that you get a feel of what we would love to do with the Book of Jeraneck one day. The proposed date to get the second editions out to people is as some of you will be ware a little sketchy at the moment due to a problem at the printers….we are working one it!
Once again as we have previously stated on other blog posts until the end of the year we will be asking for donations to the Zion’s Camp fund. So once again if you can pledge £29.99 to us to help Zion’s Camp become a reality please pay through pay pal or a cheque if you are paying though pay pal please state that its is for the Zion’s Camp Fund using the following email latterdaychurchofchrist2006@yahoo.co.uk. Hello and welcome once again. Well another week has gone by and it is drawing ever closer to Christmas a very special time of year for all Christians and believers. For The Latter Day Church of Jesus Christ December is a very special month as not only do we celebrate the birth of the Saviour but we also have our winter General Assembly meeting. Our winter GA is a time for the church to gather together and invite others to join with us. The winter GA this year is to be held on the 16th of December at ten o’clock in the morning. This year’s winter GA will be focusing on the birth and childhood f the Saviour Jesus Christ so this is a great time for our members to invite others to come and join with us.For all those that have ordered the second edition of the Book of Jeraneck we have some bad news. The book that was due for completion at the printers by the end of November has had to be put back a couple of weeks due to their being a problem at the printers. Once again we apologise for nay inconvenience this may course but we are endeavouring to get the books dispatched before Christmas, once again please accept our deepest apologies and if you wish to contact us about this issue then please feel free to get in touch with us via the email.
We feel that we need to state our position on a few things before we go any further with this post this week. A couple of questions have been asked of us this week and an answer is needed to clear up any misunderstanding. Firstly we believe in the Saviour Jesus Christ, so much so that his name is in the title of our church. We believe Joseph Smith was and still is a Prophet of God. We believe that Joseph Smith did not call a successor to the Prophetic seat in his life time upon the earth. We believe that Brigham Young was not called of God to lead the remnant of the church. We believe that all those that stood and said they had been chosen to lead the church after Joseph’s death did so without the blessing of the Lord. We believe that the revelation that Joseph had at Carthage gaol before he died came true, in which the church was torn apart from within. We do not condone polygamy we see it as unscriptural and unsupportable in both the Bible and the Book of Mormon and we see its practise as a sin. We do not have any ties with the LDS church in Utah neither do we wish any, although they proclaim to be the church that was established by Joseph Smith this is unsupportable and that claim is made by all the churches that were established at the time of Joseph’s death once again fulfilling prophesy given to the Prophet Joseph Smith before he died. We see it as our holy mission to bring all Gods children into this church The Latter Day Church of Jesus Christ, and to bring them to a knowledge of Joseph Smiths original teachings and to bring them to a knowledge of the Book of Jeraneck. We believe that the Book of Jeraneck is a holy book of scripture just as the Bible and the Book of Mormon. We believe That Matthew Philip Gill was called by God to be a Prophet of God and to lead the Lords church. We do not believe in forcing people to join our church or tricking them in to doing so by promising things that are not true. However we do believe that it is our right to talk to people and to try and teach them the gospel of Christ.
As we have previously stated on other blog posts until the end of the year we will be asking for donations to the Zion’s Camp fund. We hope that all that have read this week’s blog post will have been uplifted and we hope that you have felt the spirit. We would like to welcome all of you to attend our winter GA on the 16th of December and join with us in celebrating the birth and childhood of our Saviour Jesus Christ. Amen.

It has been a wonderful week all round for the church what with people talking to us and expressing there desire to be untied with us and their desire to help us in the work. We have some exciting news for everybody. It has been decided by the Prophet Matthew Gill that we shall make our sacrament meetings available on the internet. The Prophet has proposed that all Sacrament meetings shall be recorded and posted on our youtube page. It has also been decided that if people want to join us live then they can do so by logging on at a certain time on Sunday morning and joining us for the meeting live in real time. Also our General Assembly meeting which is set for the 16th of December will also be done in the same way, we will make an announcement before hand letting everybody know when to log on and you can join us live for our General Assembly meetingon the 16th od December, however it will also be available on our youtube site as will all our Sunday sacrament meetings. With the use of modern technology we believe that it is only fair that those who are not able to get to the meeting house can join in and feel the love of the Saviour and hear the Gospel.Once again we would like to dedicate a little bit of this blog space to the cause of Zion’s Camp and what we believe that we should be doing to serve Gods purposes here on earth. We the members of the Latter Day Church of Jesus Christ as you are aware have been commanded to build a safe refuge for the storms that are coming at this place of refuge we will be looking to create a new social order of peace built upon the laws of God. In this life no one has the right to be cold or nasty to his neighbour. Malice, put-downs and payback will be foreign to our way of life. The love that we shall try to institute will restrain us form striving to take advantage of one another, form turning our backs on one another when the times get hard.
All of you know that this world and its way of doing things encourage everyone to be responsible for his own life and the lives of their family. They make you think that once you have food, clothing and a place to live then it is okay to try and be nice to your neighbour, however they still put limits on how nice you can be or how much you can talk and what is acceptable, now matter how many laws they pass to try and make you unite as a community there are still barriers, for instance one person has his group of friends, another a different set, someone else another set, most family cant even sit down together to eat a meal without fighting and trying to get one over on someone else.
We want to create a new society were this is not the case. We have been given the building blocks for this new society were the chains of fear and guilt and hatred that bind us can be broken. The new order we are talking about is not ideal, its real. Ideal societies are the playground of the dreamer and the intellectuals of this world, not one person has ever built an ideal world or society that works. In fact there is not a location on this earth were you can observe an ideal society, all those society’s that profess to be ideal are all based on the laws of men and those laws can only limit evil not create virtue and godliness. Zion’s camp will not be perfect, but God has given us the plans and building blocks to get it done and make it real and living. In Zion’s Camp we will be able to shake of the natural man who is an enemy to God and has been since the fall of Adam and we will be able to forgive each other and press on toward the goal and that goal is that one day we will be able to stand at the feet of our saviour.
All the Prophets of the ancient times have spoken of a new order a new social order in which all things are restored. Joseph Smith established many places in America many places were this new order could take hold, but the people failed him they weren’t ready to live up to the laws of Kirkland, Kirtland was the first place were God established his vision for his people that vision that Joseph was given to fulfil was to establish a living place of God were his laws were real and meant something in peoples lives. But it is possible for Gods people to build a place were man can dwell at one with God, were the laws of the creator can be paramount in our hearts, were children need to be exposed to hate and fear where families can live together in peace and harmony. Many people reading this will not be able to see the difference between Zion’s Camp and any other idea that describes utopian ideals some will feel that its is to good to be true. But there are those of you who are ready to do the will of the Lord and you will know weather this is actually gods plan and that Gods wants his children to live in a place of love and peace you will know weather or not this is just something that we have made up or weather it truly is Gods will. Remember the city of Enoch that was translated remember that in that place there was no poor among them they truly were the sons and daughters of God. And now the Lord has asked that we do it again, that we establish this place for a refuge for all those that are seeking this new life. Read Luke 9:23 and take in your hearts what it says... If you desire to live a self sacrificing life of love, to experience the deep soul satisfaction doing what God wants and serving his law and doing what we were created for then Zion’s camp is for you.
If you want to see such a place built then please make a donation, pledge your money to help buy the land and build the buildings and put your name forward to come and join with us in Zion’s Camp and make it a reality for the benefit of all those that are seeking a better way of life, free from persecution, war, hunger, poverty and hatred. As the statue of liberty says "Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, The wretched refuse of your teeming shore, Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"
We have been asked by the Prophet who has been directed by God to build Zion’s Camp to ask every one who reads this blog to help us establish Zion’s Camp by giving a donation of £29.99 to The Latter Day Church of Jesus Christ to help us with this cause. If you can not manage to pledge £29.99 then please pledge what you can or even pledge time or clothing or dried food to aid us in building a place fit for the saints of the most high and all those seeking peace and safety form the tribulation that is coming.
Zion’s Camp is to be a place that is a place of refuge and safety. The Lord has given us a command to “Gather together in one place that my saints should be separate from the world and I have commanded that the saints prepare now to be gathered in one place in my name” So Zion’s Camp is a to be a physical place but the Lord also say’s that other people not of the church will gather, for he said "Now I say unto you that the day will shortly come to pass, that every man that will not take his sword against his neighbour must flee unto Zion’s Camp for safety. And there shall be gathered at Zion’s Camp all the righteous of thy seed and a nation will be formed and it will be formed under heaven; and it shall be the only place save Zion in Jackson County Missouri that shall not be at war one with another". So we can see that Zion’s Camp is not just for the saints but for all people seeking safety and peace were all those that do not wish to fight wars and who do not wish to have hatred thrust upon them, although Zion’s Camp will live the law of the most high this will not be thrust upon those that come who are not of our faith, but we aim to love all people whatever they believe, however the laws of Zion’s Camp will be framed by God, but for the benefit of all.
If you want to see such a place built make the donation, pledge your money to help buy the land and build the buildings and put your name forward to come and join with us in Zion’s Camp and make it a reality for the benefit of all those that are seeking a better way of life, free from persecution, war, hunger, poverty and hatred. We would like to thank every body for their support over this last month with their kind words of support and encouragement. We have fond your love and friendship encouraging and we once again would like to take e the time to thank you publicly for all your heart felt support and fellowship. The Latter day Church of Jesus Christ has been inundated with emails over the last month and we have tried to answer as many as we can. On the whole the majority of emails we receive. Their have been a lot of you asking to speak with the Prophet Matthew Gill, if you address your email for his attention we will pass it to him and he will endeavour to answer the letter at soon as he can. I’m sure you can imagine that he gets a lot of requests to answer mail personally and he tries to find time to do each one.
We have had a lot of people asking us a lot of different questions this month. One of the questions that has arisen form a few people is do we believe in tithing? And what makes us different to the LDS (UTHA) church on tithing the answer is yes we do believe in tithing, and we do differ on the subject. In fact we were addressed by the Prophet on this issue this week in church.
We believe in section 119 of the 1835 Doctrine and Covenants so we believe in tithing. If you read section 119 of the D&C you will find that Tithing was a question for many in the Church, there were many views and people were paying different amounts and in different ways.
Section 119 was given through revelation by the Lord to be "and this shall be a STANDING LAW UNTO THEM FOREVER". Greatly distinguishing it from other Laws and commandments that God give and later might revoke or change and of course from the policies and teaching established by Church quorums or proposed by leaders that some time change and can have errors. Here the Lord revealed the Law of Tithing to be "a STANDING LAW unto them FOREVER". I remind you that this was for the whole Church, not for some group living a higher Law but rather for the general members and those entering the Church as the Lord clearly set forth in verses 1-7 the rich and the poor the strong and the week the young and the old.
In verses 1-3 the Lord commanded that members already in the Church to give all their SURPLUS property to the Bishop of the Church. The Lord declares what the funds are to be used for and this is the beginning of the tithing of my people. Everyone was to start off with only what they feel they need. All were to enter Zion equal.
In verse 4 the Lord declares "And AFTER THAT" see verse 1-3 (given their all their surplus property) "those who have thus been tithed" shall do the following. He states when they shall do it and what they shall do, the correct amount and on what. He commands: they "shall pay ONE TENTH" "of their INTEREST" and they are to do it "ANNUALLY"
Since the time the Lord gave this STANDING LAW UNTO THE CHURCH FOR FOREVER various leaders and member of other so called Mormon faiths have tried to improve or change the law to their own ideas, in fact if you read the many sermons on tithing in the conferences of the other Mormon churches you will find their leaders trying to be more righteous than the last speaker some how, some claimed the better way was to pay their tithing monthly another as soon as you get it and even another once you get word it is coming to you. These people have discarded the wisdom and law of the Lord, in preference to their ideas of righteousness and wisdom. Tithing is a commandment of God and its details are specifically given by God and are simple and fair to all, and with in it there is great wisdom. But yet we find that the many Mormon faiths including the LDS UTAH Church have rejected the Lords authority to make STANDING LAWS UNTO THE CHURCH. For instance the LDS UTAH church have enacted at least 5 different policy changes at 5 different times since they arrived in SLC and never was there a claim of revelation or inspiration to do it. What we see today is that many Mormon churches including the LDS Utah church, instead of following Gods command listen to mortal men speak and everyone abandons the words give by God to the direct the Church.
Verse 5 of 119 commands that all new members shall pay all of their surplus property too as they gather to Zion. Note this is not before they gather but after, the Lord did not want them not to have the means to gather. Today many of the Mormon Churches and by far the largest of these Mormon churches the LDS Utah church has grown to the point that new converts can gather in their own areas. In any case the command is after they gather they pay the same, no more or no less than those who are already there did. ALL OF THEIR SURPLUS PROPERTY AND AFTER THAT, ONE TENTH WAS AND IS TO BE PAID ON THEIR INTEREST OR INCREASE FOR THAT YEAR, AND IT WAS TO BE DONE ANNUALLY. And this is the reason for an annual meeting with the bishop.
You determine if and how much better off you are this year than the year before and you supply one tenth of that to the Bishop. It is your tithing, not the tithing the bishop determines for you. It is your responsibility to determine if you have prospered and give the correct amount to the Bishop and it is his responsibility to receive, record and do with the tithing properly as set for in verse 2 and not go off and do something else with it or change the Law to his own ideas.
You may have noticed in the above statement I used the term "interest" and "increase". The word "interest" is used by the Lord in verse 4 to define what you are tithed on. The word increase comes from many of the early sermons by the Leaders who had it explained and taught to them by Joseph Smith and were teaching the saints. Interest mean increase, In the early days most members were farmers and worked for themselves and had little certainty of if they were doing better this year than last - having an increase was not known until the crops where harvested and secured in the barn and or sold. In the great wisdom of the Lord, the determining of what interest or increase you had been blessed with was to be made on an annual basis. Everyone could do this. They were not tithed again on what they had only on their increased wealth.
What of the poor and those who had no interest but in fact were poorer this year than last? Tithing as revealed adjusted for that fact and does not add to their burden by taking the bread out of the mouth of the poor. But if a person be they wealthy or poor had an increase from last year they also are capable to pay the Lord his small tenth of that interest. Please note that the Lord did not use the term "income". The whole question of Gross or Net is just a one of many foolish things that has resulted from individuals, leaders and the many Mormon Churches trying to change or allowing attempts to ignore and change the specific commandment and instruction on who, what, when and who is to obey tithing. Live the commandments of God, pay your tithing as He revealed it, not someone else's way.
There is great wisdom in the Lords Law of Tithing I will just mention the few I have noticed, I am sure there are more.
· The individual counts his blessings and wealth.
· There is an appoint time to do this, annually.
· The amount is based on your ability to pay.
· All members were to enter the Church committed.
· All paid initially what they could - all of their surplus...
· All paid no more than they could or should.
· No extra hardship is placed on the poor.
· The Church receives resources needed
· The members are allowed and encouraged to be prosperous.
· The Church is limited to the resources the Lord establishes for them to receive. And will not put heavy yokes on the people in the Lord's name or for righteousness sake calling it - tithing, a commandment from God. But not to run faster than the Church had means.
· It is simple, only 7 verses.
· It is easy to follow correctly.
· It will make the people happy and make God and the people partners in their own prosperity and that of the Church.
· It is designed so that the weakest of saints have no excuse to obey it. And those who didn't obey it where to be kicked out of the Church.
· It is a Standing Law to the whole Church to obey from head to toe, not a just commandment for the members to follow. The leaders and the organization (the Church as a body) have to following this STANDING LAW as revealed.
· It is a commandment with a promise and a warning -- verse 6-7.
· The traditional form of tithing was "in kind" meaning a farmer might pay in crops, a rancher in animals and others in what ever they prospered in but it does not instruct that it has to be paid "in kind" or indicate or limit acceptable forms of tithing payment. Which would allow for changes over time, countries and individuals needs and ability to convert it to a currency?
The wisdom in this simple commandment always amazes me. The Lord knows what works and is righteous. Some people want to pay more, some less some something else, some gross, some net. But if we go beyond the mark and do it even with all sincerity we ignore the word of the Lord, and in our own way like those who refuse to obey His specific instructions, we ignore it. There is no wisdom in and the members and the leaders and the other Mormon Church have no right to modify the commandment that the Lord has given us as a Standing Law. Also to that effect we The Latter Day Church of Jesus Christ have no right to change the law because we either do not understand or do not want to live his law.
D&C 119 is a Standing Law unto the Church forever, as given and does not admit modifications! Remember that tithing is what the Lord said it is - nothing more, nothing less and that you are responsible to make sure you obey this HIS LAW correctly in the prescribed way He commanded. It is not a free will offering it is a commandment of God we are obligated to obey, and obey as given. Pay your tithes annually, pay one tenth of you interest , your increase, not income, count your blessings the way the Lord has told you to, there is great wisdom in His prescribed ways, we should not, we must not adopt other ways just as other so called Mormon churches have done just because you do not want to. If you don't practice and obey tithing the Lord's way it's not tithing! It's some apostate form of what God revealed in clarity and simplicity to be a STANDING LAW UNTO THE CHURCH FOREVER!
So what do we say as members of The latter Day Church of Jesus Christ to other Mormon Denominations who refuse to see this law the way we do? I would encourage you to remind them of the story of the Rechabites, and the strong TEMPTATION that they were under when invited to the Temple of God, and there, in one of the apartments, ASKED by Jeremiah, one of THE GREATEST PROPHETS, to drink wine; or, in other words, TO DO SOMETHING THEY HAD BEEN INSTRUCTED by their father not to do. BUT THEY COULD NOT BE MOVED, the teaching of their father had found an abiding place in their hearts, and the consequence was that THEY UTTERLY REFUSED TO DO WHAT THE PROPHET OF GOD TOLD THEM TO DO. THE LORD HIMSELF ADMIRED THE COURSE THAT THEY TOOK IN THIS MATTER and was led as I before said, to make such a glorious promise to the house of Rechab.
If the Lord admired and rewarded these individual for refusing to disregard the instructions of their mortal father and obey the new direct instructions given to them by the prophet in the temple. How much more appropriate is it for you to refuse to disregard a Law of God declared by him to be a standing law forever and not follow numerous authorized changes made by mortal leaders. If you have to choose between your God's standing commandment and your so called bishops or other mortal leaders that instruct you, which will it be? If you or any body else in what ever Mormon faith is not obeying tithing the Lords way, you or they are not live tithing but some perversion of the truth ! Who convinced you to do it is no excuse and it doesn't change God's standing law, to you and to them and to his church!
If this church we to have a motto it should not be "do it" but rather it should be “do it the Lords way"
So there you have it that’s what we believe on tithing. Some people may have seen something similar to this on other sites that’s because common sense is common sense no matter who writes it. We believe in section 119 of the 1835 Doctrine and Covenants and we believe in tithing.
We hope you have a good week, and we are sure that this week’s blog will attract a lot of attention so we stand ready to answer your emails…God Bless

Hello and welcome. This is the blog site for The Latter day Church of Jesus Christ. My name is Matthew Gill and I am the Prophet of not only this church but also of God. I have been asked by the blog administrator to take this weeks blog.It seems that the following quote by Joseph Smith Jr concerning persecution is very relevant for this church once again this week.... “The Saviour said, Blessed are ye when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely for my sake; rejoice and be exceeding glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so persecuted they the Prophets which were before you." Now, dear brethren, if any men ever had reason to claim this promise, we are the men; for we know that the world not only hate us, but they speak all manner of evil of us falsely, for no other reason than that we have been endeavouring to teach the fullness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ”
This week the ugly and evil head of persecution has risen once again, it seems that Satan really has a hold of peoples hearts at the moment and we are bearing the brunt of it. We here at The Latter Day Church of Jesus Christ are not here to make enemies but to simply spread the message of the Christ and to tell people about a wonderful gift that he has given the world in The Book of Jeraneck. However it seems that there are groups of people who claim to be members of a church that believes in Jesus and they have took it upon themselves to send us emails that are of a hateful nature and that pour scorn upon a church that they know nothing about and to brand us as evil and under the influence of Satan...however they not only accuse us of of being evil but any one who is not a member of their church the LDS (UTAH) but they also go as far as saying that Muslims are evil, and it would seem that despite their leaders declaring form the stand that there are people in this world inspired by God to bring about change and usher in new eras for mankind that are not members of the LDS church such as Muhammadans.... they are however closed off from this sentiment.
The emails were of such a disgraceful nature that I have decided to list one of them on this blog site and allow you to draw your own conclusion in to their nature. All I would say before you read it is that we have hundreds of emails every week from people wanting to know what we are about and asking sincere and relevant questions however the majority of emails form LDS(Utah) Mormons are of a derogatory nature and have a slanderous viper to them. I don't understand how a people that profess to be led by God can produce such hateful emails. I ask all LDS (Utah) Mormons to take a long look at what this person wrote and ask yourself is that really Christlike...?

PRESIDENT HINKLEY IS A WONDERFUL MAN AND THE ONLY LIVING PROPHET TODAY ON THIS EARTH. I USED TO BE ANGLICAN AND MY HUSBAND WAS CATHOLIC WE ARE SO GREATFUL TO FIND THE ONLY TRUE CHURCH ON EARTH
I have never tried to stop the work of the Lord I just don't think that that work is for the sole ownership of the LDS (Utah) church. No I don't believe that that LDS(UTAH) church is the only true church on the face of the earth, I think a lot of what they do is not what God intended for his people and I believe they have gone astray form the original teachings of Joseph Smith Jr, however I think that they believe just because they have 12 million members or more that gives them the right to go around acting as God and this is wrong no matter what religion you are apart of, but I don't go around persecuting them either! Although a lot of what this person says in the email is doctrinally incorrect it pains me to think that there are people out there that have this much hatred in their hearts. I will pray for them to understand that this is not what Christ would have wanted for his people. I would urge you all to do the same.
Once again let me say without any doubt that The latter Day Church of Jesus Christ has no problem with the LDS(Utah) Mormons or any of its membership, in fact some members of my extend family are LDS, but when its members send hate filled and misguided emails of this nature I will respond and I will react because not to do so would be unwise. I am here as a representative of Christ and as a representative of Christ I see it as my duty to stop this kind of behaviour, I love Christ and I worship him as does my wife, my son, my parents, and all of my family. I do not believe that Brigham Young was chosen to be a Prophet of God by God however that does not entitle me to be derogatory in any way to any one that believes this, I just think they are misguided. I am not an Anti-Christ and I am not a Beeny Hinn, may be all those that think I am should go away and find out first what an Ant-Christ is and also who Benny Hinn is. This church is not rich it is not massive we do not have millions of pounds and we do not seek those things all I am asking is that you read what has been put down in that email and ask yourself if they are the words and actions of someone that has Christ in the centre of their lives and ask yourself if they are the actions of someone who pre ports to be a chrsitian. We have done nothing to warrant this kind of behaviour our blog site is not inciting hatred and we do not deserve this kind of abuse. All we have done since we started the blog is to reach out to people, what is so wrong with that? we are not selling children or drugs or encouraging prostitution, we are simply spreading a message of hope form God and we are telling the world that we have a new record of a people that lived in the British isles that also had a relationship with God....I ask once again what is wrong with that?
As for me all I can say with my hand on my heart that I love the Saviour and I love what he has given me and my family, and that is a belief in him and in the holy scriptures, and I would die to protect his name and his gospel. I hope that you all have a wonderful week and that Christ's presence can be felt in your lives. God bless you my friends and if your not my friend God bless you any way!
